Frequently Asked Questions:
What Should I Know Before My TeleHealth Appointment?
Can a telemedicine appointment really address my health concern?
While not every concern can be addressed this way, you might be surprised to find out just how many health concerns can be fully addressed during a TeleHealth visit. With an online or telephone visit, you will continue to receive the same level of care that you’ve always received – all from the comfort and safety of your own home.
Are online TeleHealth visits secure?
On our end, we use CharmHealth electronic health records (EHR) for our televisits. CharmHealth EHR follows stringent security measures by adhering to HIPAA & HITECH standards, to ensure the security of your e-PHI (electronic personal health information).
From your end, make sure that you are in a private area so that others in your home or work area are not able to hear your personal medical information.
What do I need to do before my TeleHealth appointment?
After you request your appointment, you’ll be sent pre-examination forms. Once those are submitted, you will be sent a link to register for your patient portal. Your TelelHealth visit will occur via your secure patient portal or can be accessed through an individual link.
When do I need to pay for my appointment?
After scheduling your appointment online, you will be required to pay the minimum amount due ($55, see pricing page for more details). Your appointment will not be confirmed until this payment is made.
How do I pay for my appointment?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover, to include most HSA’s (Health Savings Accounts). Payments can be made through your Patient Portal, you may request an invoice with a link to pay, or you may make payment over the phone. Most payments can be submitted to your insurance carriers for request for all/partial reimbursement. Simply login to your patient portal after your TeleHealth visit and print off or download your visit summary and payment receipt. Send those along with insurance carrier’s reimbursement request form to your insurance company.
While most visits require no extra charges, if there are any additional charges added during your visit (e.g. you require additional labs or medications) Please see our pricing page for details.
Does TeleHealth take longer?
In order to properly assess you via TeleHealth, our provider may need to ask you more questions than he would need to in a hands-on situation. These times however still balance out to be similar to an office visit. Some questions may sound redundant, but be patient, they all help to narrow down health concerns and causes.
Will I receive a visit summary after my visit?
Yes! Just like an in-person visit, your summary will be reviewed and signed off on by your provider after your visit. You will receive your visit summary within two business days via your patient portal.
